Flytta til Sverige med vår 2014 4Runner

Jag och min svensk fru kommer att flytta tillbaka til Sverige från USA med vår 2014 4Runner Trail. Is this a silly idea? Should we just sell it?

If we do take it, should we buy extra spare parts (break pads, air filters, oil filters, etc.)? Anything else? What would happen if we needed to replace something like the windshield?

Any advice or suggestions are very much appreciated.

Tack så jättemycket.

Instämmer med ovanstående.

Många delar är säkert samma som för Land Cruiser 150, och annars går det att beställa online.

Det blir en cool och ovanlig bil här i Sverige!

Välkomna! And Welcome to toyota4x4.se

Tack!

Do you think it will be hard to get insurance? Could it be much more expensive?

I have owned a lot of cars, both imported by others and imported by my self.

Some insurance companies will not accept imports, but a lot of companies do. Price is normally not higher. You will be fine.

I used to buy parts in the US since I could find a lot that wasn't easily available, and certainly not in Sweden.
Then the price was much better in the US, but that may have changed from ten years ago.
I have had half a dozen 4Runners but all diesel and RHD. I never tried registering them in Sweden but if you bring it when you move it is rather easy.
None was newer than 2000 model or so.
4Runners are rare in Sweden and they were all gasoline and manual change I believe.
Yours may be the only one around.

Thank you for sharing. Ours is gasoline and automatic. I may buy some extra parts, such as brake pads, to have just in case.
