[HELP] HZJ79 - Broken Suspension

Hello,

I just did a post in the International Friends but might not have been the best idea...?

I think Here would have been better...
Sorry for repost, but it's somewhat of an "emergency request".

So here it is, and i'll surely remove the other :

First time over your country for the Love of a Land Cruiser 79.... :)

I had the surprise that (Being french) Sweden is almost the same hell (administratively wise)... Then, i really feel like Home ! :p

Yet i have a suspension trouble (broken leaves) that i was supposed to fix but just learnt the garage/Versktad was (definitely) closing.... hence could not do the repairs.

Only to find that, for some reasons, garages here are quite reluctant/nervous to the idea of changing suspensions leaves : they either have no time (why not...) or they say they do not have the Equipment to proceed...

(WTF... Bolts and Nuts job...Maybe a matter of one hour or two... and a hydraulic press for the bushings, maybe...)

So being a bit desperate, I'm turning to the community to see if there is any good advises to harvest or even a 4X4/Land Cruiser enthousiast willing to give me a hand/help on this...

I managed to get shipped all the needed spares to have them on site but i could not guess the hardest part would be to find a garage....!

For now, i'm in the Stockholm/Upsalla area.

Thanks a lot

Yours, Solo

Stupid question maybe, but have you been to Toyota?

Feels like they can’t say no to that job ?

If they can’t/won’t do it, they might know some shop that will (that’s the case for transmissions here in Gothenburg, Toyota can’t do it, but they point you to a good shop that can).

A regular garage would have little experience with leaf springs

A better place would be a truck repair shop, they are used to working with those

I know of some but not where you are

I am one hour south of Stockholm

Here is one that should be able to help

Hello, and a Happy New year to All of you, Fellow OffRoaders!

May it be full of adventures of all kind!

First of all, i apologize for the lack of answers.
I've been quite bothered by all this story and then really busy till this end of the year and to finish : i could not retrieve my password to connect and answer.

Finally found it back so here i am!

@MrWIB : your stupid question gave actually a very good answer : No. Because....I am even move stupid than your question and did not think of it....!!
So, your advise is now dully noted "in cas of"!

@priffe: that's what i though but i've been declined by Mekonomen for some weird reasons (We are not properly tooled to do this kind of work... ?). I mean... thats one of the most basic work you can do on a car with all the basic tools a garage may have : a lift, some pneumatic wrench and time...

Time is also quite problem : it seems you lack garages in Sweden... even for basic stuff (like Wheel Geometry) they ask a week to do so......

And to keep you up to date : since i was running out of time, i gave up for now  and went back home in November as weather started to be quite cold!
I'll hopefully come back later in the year to take care of this...

Thanks again for yours hints and helps...by commentary or messages.

That was helpful nonetheless, and really heartwarming!

Looking forward to come back

Yours,

Solo
